4. karpackie biennale sztuki

My mixed-media work, At Hierophants of Escapism, has earned a distinction at 4. Karpackie Biennale Sztuki at Regionalne Centrum Kultur Pogranicza in Krosno. Together with the recent work, Invisible Woman, it is shown between 1 XII and 30 XII in the Orange Gallery of RCKP among many wonderful works of Polish and Slovak artists. The exhibition is to be shown in Bardejov, Slovakia, in spring 2018.

Song of the Books, 1-2-3/5, mixed media: drypoint + collage + calligraphy, 50×50 cm, 2017. The text comes from the Irish poem by Tomás Rua Ó Súilleabháin (1785-1848) – each print has the subsequent stanza of the lament after the books lost in the sea, known as Amhrán Na Leabhar. The text was set to music and has been performed by many artists; to me the most haunting is the version by Emer Kenny, and it is her piece that most directly inspired the vision. Still, there are two prints left to be finished…

The international exhibition Metaphors of Existence, curated by Stojče and Emilia Tocinovski, which had its first presentation in September 2015 in Skopje is currently being shown in the Art Gallery in Veles, Macedonia.
